Our Dean Homestead and Art Studios tours bring folks from all over the country to our place here in Homer. The tours end in our gallery and I often make commissioned work for guests.I recently finished this redfish piece for a couple in Florida. Redfish are pretty striking with very distinct scales.

Redfish – Heat-colored steel, 51″ x 21″The crate is ready and waiting, but if you’re in the area, you can stop by our gallery to see it tomorrow at our February first Friday event from 5-7 pm. I’ll be shipping it off to Florida on Monday.I’ll also be offering metal photo prints from photos of it. Inquire if you’re interested.



​I’ve been revisiting some old sketchbooks from the trip I took to Italy and Sicily with my grandmother in 1978, during my time at Naguib School of Sculpture.Here are the original sketch I made on that trip, and the first steel version I’ve made from it. It’s called, ‘Spoleto Stazione,.’ ‘and that’s where the mystery begins…’The piece still needs a clear coat and hanger, but it will be available soon.

p Next:Metal prints of the wood cut block I made from a sketch I did in a New York museum, titled, ‘Looking at Miro’ have been super popular in the gallery.





So has, ‘New York City Shopping,’ which I made from a pastel enhanced woodcut print.

I think it was on that same trip that I made this little sketch I call, ‘Baffled by Brancusi.’

I

have two different 16″ x 24″ engravings in the works based on this sketch. I’ll send pictures when they are finished.
